![]() The Razer Phone 2 now boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 (the previous model had the 835 model) and Bluetooth 5.0. One other change on the back of the phone the cameras have been moved from the corner of the back to the center-top of the back panel.ĭanielle Abraham + 1 moreWhile the outside looks familiar, plenty has changed on the inside. ![]() Razer will be offering this model with a glossy back (what I reviewed) or a Satin finish, which should alleviate the fingerprint issue, but there's no indication on Razer's site of when it'll be available, or whether or not it'll be the same price as the glossy finish. This panel is unfortunately quite mushy-pressing on it firmly flexes the panel enough to make an audible squishing noise. The back panel is now made of glass, so it's a fingerprint magnet, but it allows for wireless charging. It’s useful for when your phone is face down, so you can see whether or not you need to respond to a certain notification. This means a notification from twitter might be blue, while one from Slack could be white. Though you can customize the logo to illuminate in whichever color you want (or just turn it off), you can also enable app-specific colors for notifications. It’s fairly discreet as far as gaming peripherals go however, with no obnoxious indicators that it's a phone built for gaming, except for the RGB logo on the back. Like its predecessor, Razer has opted for a rectangular body that looks and feels like a slim brick. Razer Phone 2 – Design and FeaturesWhen it comes to the phone's design, the Razer Phone 2 looks sharp, and I mean that literally. Are all these changes worth the upgrade? I spent a week with the phone in an attempt to find out. All these upgrades bumped the price up a bit too, so the new phone is now $100 more than the previous one at $800. This time around it features a glass back (for wireless charging), new camera lenses, IP67 water resistance, and a customizable RGB logo (as well as various other tweaks). The overall design is mostly unchanged, as it retains the sharp, blocky chassis from the previous version while receiving some welcome upgrades. The Razer Phone 2 (See it on Amazon) is the company’s second iteration of its flagship gaming phone.
